The Pete Moore Hospice House
The Pete Moore Hospice House is the first of its kind in all of Lane County. A hospice house provides compassionate care in a warm, home-like setting for those facing the end of life. While staff offer kindness and compassion, family and friends take comfort knowing their loved one is in good hands. For those that do not have family or loved ones to care for them, a hospice house provides them with a home-like setting and the care they so desperately need.

Tour leader Zack Page is a hospice RN in Eugene, OR. Working as a hospice nurse he has a profound appreciation for what it means to "live everyday to the fullest". This ride was created as a way for individuals to honor those we have lost by challenging ourselves to do something we would normally not do in our everyday lives. By honoring those we have lost we find strength in challenging ourselves "because we can". This ride is challenging, but in many ways is analogous to those left behind after the loss of a close friend or family member. During the grieving process sometimes we can only focus on getting through each hour of the day. Sometimes thinking of the "big picture" and how one is going to go on after a loss is similar to going on a long, difficult bike ride. This ride might be 167 miles long and gain over 13,000 feet in elevation, but sometimes we are able to overcome great obstacles by taking it "one crank at a time".
Funds raised from this ride will go to the non-profit Cascade Health Foundation which raises funds for a multitude of philanthropic programs and services that improve the health and quality of life in our community. Some of those programs are Cascade Hospice, the Pete Moore Hospice House, Transitions and others. Thank you for your support!
